COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) Ground was broken Monday for the Copperas Cove ISD’s new transportation facility.
The facility, which will be built on a 15-acre site at 455 Summers Rd., will house all of the district’s transportation offices and its repair shop and includes parking space for more than 100 buses and fleet vehicles.
“This new facility will provide additional safety measures for CCISD as it moves us out of a residential neighborhood and provides more space for our fleet of buses. Right now, our buses are parked 18 inches apart and we cannot get them all parked at our current transportation facility. So, this facility is very much needed,” CCISD Director of Support Services Gary Elliott said.
Officials expect to move into the facility by next June.
