Copperas Cove: Interim city manager named

COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) The Copperas Cove City Council has named an interim city manager while the search for a permanent replacement for former City Manager Andrea Gardner is underway.

Budget Director and Deputy City Manager Ryan Haverlah’s appointment as interim manager is effective on Feb. 17.

The City is using the services of the company Texas First Group to help with the search for the Interim City Manager Process.

Gardner submitted her resignation in January, effective Feb. 16.

Council members accepted the resignation in a 4-3 vote.

Gardner cited personal reasons for her resignation.

Gardner has more than a decade of local government experience.

She was hired as Copperas Cove’s assistant city manager/finance director on Jan. 3, 2006 and was appointed as city manager in September 2007.

She’s also served as finance director in Pearland and as senior budget coordinator in Pasadena.
