COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) It's every child’s dream, getting a letter from Santa Claus.

Now the City of Copperas Cove is making that dream into reality.

For the second year, the city has set up a special mailbox at the civic center that will collect the letters to be shipped to the North Pole.

“There is nothing like the idea of believing. Santa is one of those things that will always bring joy to a little kid. The idea that Santa recognized you with a personal letter, he's coming to give you something special. It's so amazing” said Heather Bryan, Copperas Cove tourism/information coordinator.

More than a dozen letters are in the box now, but the city is hoping for more.

Anyone wanting a letter back from Santa must include a name and address.

The mailbox will be at the civic center until Dec. 15.

The office will be open from Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
