KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Three people were taken to a local hospital after a car that police were pursuing collided with their vehicle in an intersection in Killeen.

The chase started at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday after officers attempted to pull over a black Honda Accord for a traffic violation at the intersection of Rev. R.A. Abercrombie Drive and Taft Street.

The driver sped off and led officers through neighborhoods as he drove toward Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, on which he headed south.

He ran a red light at the intersection of MLK and Stan Schlueter Loop and his Honda collided with a Chrysler sedan.

The driver tried to run, but officers caught him.

The three people riding in the Chrysler were taken to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights.

Their injuries were not life threatening, police said.

The driver of the Honda was not immediately identified.

He was taken to the Killeen City Jail.
