WEST, Texas (KWTX) The Department of Public Safety late Monday morning identified the two people who died in a two-vehicle collision at an Interstate 35 access road intersection South of West as Joe Castro, 61, and Celia Castro, 58, both of Midland.

Joe Castro was driving a 2009 Scion passenger car west on West Tours Road at around 2:15 p.m. Sunday when he ran a stop sign, DPS Sgt. Ryan W. Howard said.

A 2015 Ford pickup that was headed south on the access road struck the car.

The Castros both died at the scene, Howard said.

The driver of the pickup, William Leforce, 18, of Oklahoma, was not injured.,

Betty Bartosh, 18 of Elm Mott, whom the DPS identified earlier Monday as the pickup's driver, was actually the witness who called 911.

No charges were filed, Howard said.
