Fire breaks out in local picture framing shop

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Temple firefighters responded early Thursday after fire broke out in a local picture framing shop.

The fire at Advantage Picture Framing at 118 South 25th St. was reported just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

Smoke was coming from the building when the first crews arrived.

“Crews forced entry into the smoke filled building, located and extinguished the fire,” Temple Fire & Rescue spokesman Thomas Pechal said.

The fire was under control by around 4:10 a.m., he said.

South 25th Street from West Avenue A to West Avenue C was closed while firefighters battled the blaze, he said.

The cause is under investigation.

A damage estimate is not yet available.
