One person dies in early morning house fire

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) One person was found dead inside a home early Tuesday after crews responded to a report of a fire.

The fire broke out at around 4 a.m. Tuesday at the home the 2200 block of the West U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14 service road.

Traffic was diverted around the service road where the house was burning.

Flames were shooting out of the back of the home, and firefighters had to wait for more than an hour to enter.

Once it was safe to go inside, crews found a body in the bathroom of the home.

It's unclear if it's a man or woman and if the person lived at the home.

A justice of the peace was requested.

Neighbors told authorities a man lived there.

Central Bell Fire & Rescue and the Belton Fire Department responded.

The cause is under investigation.
