CAMERON, Texas (KWTX) Former Milam County Jail Capt. Katrina Carie Douglas, 43, of Temple, who pleaded guilty on April 4 to theft over $2,500, but under $150,000 by a public servant in the theft of thousands of dollars from the trust fund in which money may be deposited for inmates to use to make commissary purchases, has been sentenced.

Douglas was ordered Thursday to spend 10 years on deferred adjudication probation and was ordered to pay $41,000 in restitution to Milam County, $15,000 to the county for the cost of an audit, and was fined $5,000.

If she successfully completes the sentence, the conviction will not appear on her record.

Douglas was arrested on Dec. 21, 2017 in Bell County following an investigation by the Texas Rangers.

She was released on Christmas Eve after posting a $50,000 bond.
