Two children killed in wreck between 18-wheeler and car

BEDIAS, Tex. (KBTX) - Two children are dead after an accident on Highway 90 in Grimes County Wednesday.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 5-year-old and 2-year-old were killed when the car they were riding in was hit by an 18-wheeler. The children's mother and older sibling were both seriously injured. The mother was taken to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. The 6-year-old was taken by medical helicopter to McLane Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. about a mile south of Bedias. Investigators said that Montiqua Mosley was driving her 2007 Mazda sedan and making a turn into a private drive when she was hit by an 18-wheeler. First responders had to shutdown both lanes of the highway while they investigated the wreck.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured in the accident. The nature of the crash is under investigation. No charges have been filed yet.
