WACO, Texas (KWTX) Irving area football coach Shawn Douglas Risener, 46, was named Wednesday in two multi-count child indecency indictments stemming from an investigation of the abuse of at least two boys in the 1990s in the Waco area.

One indictment charges two counts of indecency with a child by contact and the second charges six counts of the same offense.

They stem from allegations that the boys were made to perform inappropriate sexual acts sometime between 1990 and 1995

According to sheriff's officials, two men allege Risener made them perform inappropriate sexual acts sometime between the years of 1990-1995.

Risener turned himself in on Aug. 15 after warrants were issued for his arrest following a McLennan County Sheriff’s Office investigation that started when one of the victims contacted authorities.

The alleged victim decided to come forward to law enforcement after learning Risener was a high school football coach.

A source close to the investigation says Risener lived with a well-known, church-oriented family in southern McLennan County while attending Baylor.

Risener is free on bonds totaling $30,000.
