GATLINBURG, Tenn. (KWTX) A woman who graduated from Waco's Richfield High School more than 40 years ago is listed among the dead, along with her husband, in the wildfires that devastated Gatlinburg, Tenn.

A television station in Tennessee is reporting that Janet Pizzo Summers and her husband Jon, both 61, of Memphis, Tenn., died Monday after fires exploded in Gatlinburg.

The couple was in Gatlinburg to visit their sons Branson, Wesley and Jared, Gatlinburg’s NBC news channel said.

Bruce Geitzen, spokesman for the Waco Independent School District, said Janet Pizzo Summers was a 1973 graduate of Richfield High School.

James Summers, the couple’s nephew, said the two were warned to evacuate at about 9 p.m. Sunday.
"At that point, the fire was essentially all around them," he said.
The couple's sons were found in some woods and were being treated at a hospital for serious injuries.
