Good News Friday 8.25.2017

Bellmead police donated two trucks full of school supplies to La Vega Elementary this Wednesday.
This is their second year doing this and they doubled their donation!

A fundraising event was put on for Garth Goodwin, the Waco firefighter paralyzed in May.
The event had a roping competition which seventeen year old Lain LaFountain won.
Lain had a good win, but he didn't keep the prize, instead he gave it to Garth Goodwin who was at the event.

PJ Trojanowski is cancer free!
Her parents got her scans back last night and confirmed with us that she is no longer ill.
That isn't the only good part, PJ also got to start school with her classmates after a Summer of surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy.

Midway ISD's superintendent was chosen to join the long range plan for education in Texas.
He's joining the committee and one of over six hundred applicants.

Briana Shilling was awarded a scholarship through "Passport to Aggieland."
She'll be using that in the fall at Texas A&M.
