Head-on crash snarls traffic on busy Waco road

WACO, Texas (KWTX) A head-on crash in which two cars collided and a third hit a curb to avoid the wreck left a busy Waco road backed up Tuesday afternoon.

The wreck happened around 4:00 p.m. on New Road, not far from the Waco ISD football stadium.

Two SUV's crashed head-on, and another car swerved and hit a curb while avoiding the crash.

Three people were hurt in the wreck, one from each vehicle. All three were transported by ambulance, with the worst injury involving a broken femur.

A young boy who was riding in the third vehicle involved was also checked on by EMS crews.

The wreck left traffic backed up on New Road between Franklin Avenue and Bagby Avenue.

It's not clear what caused the initial head-on collision.
