BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) A body was found Friday morning on the side of a road in Bryan road after a hearse was stolen, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities say the hearse was stolen after the driver stopped at a fast food restaurant.

While he was inside the restaurant, someone jumped into the hearse and took off, perhaps not realizing there was a body in the back.

About 90 minutes later, a truck driver spotted the body, which was still on a gurney, in a ditch off of Dick Elliot Road in North Bryan, a few miles away from the restaurant.

Bryan police arrived on scene around 7 a.m. Friday.

The hearse was later found in the Edge community northwest of Bryan and a man and a woman were taken into custody.

Adam Crow and Tanya Albrecht were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and Albrecht was charged with abuse of a corpse.
