HEWITT, Texas (KWTX) The city of Hewitt hosted the first Hounds and Sounds music festival at Creekside Amphitheater Saturday afternoon.

Hewitt families brought their dogs to the festival and enjoyed food, games, a bounce house, and live music from several bands. The event was partnered with the Humane Society of Central Texas.
The shelter brought a trailer to showcase several dogs in hopes of finding them a forever home.

The city of Hewitt’s Media Coordinator Caz Muske said they have held music festivals in the past, but this year they wanted to do something to benefit a good community cause.

“People love animals, so we thought what better way than do an event that benefits the humane society,” Muske said. They also had a raffle contest to raise money that will go director to the Humane Society.
