HEWITT, Texas (KWTX) Three people in a Walmart parking lot got busted after Hewitt Police found meth in a van.

It started inside the store on Sun Valley Boulevard around 11:25 a.m. Monday.

According to the police report, the store’s loss prevention officer contacted a theft suspect who was seen taking a can of body spray and concealed it somewhere on his body.

The employee confronted the man and asked him to give the item back, which the man did.

After the man left the store, the loss prevention officer saw the man meet up with a man and woman in the parking lot who he was in the store with earlier.

The employee believed those two may have also stolen from the store.

Police were called, and officers started talking to the three suspects in a green van.

During the conversation, a detective saw potentially stolen property in plain view and began searching the vehicle.

The items turned out not to be stolen, but according to the report, police did find narcotics, dangerous drugs, and drug paraphernalia during the search.

While the suspect was given a ticket for the theft that happened inside the store, the other two occupants in the vehicle, a husband and wife, were arrested in connection with the drug discovery.

Daniel Christian, 40, of Austin, and his wife Megan Christian, 37, of Lake Creek, were both charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Mrs. Christian was also charged with four counts of possession of dangerous drug for medications which were not prescribed to her.

She was released from the McLennan County Jail Tuesday after posting $7,000 in bonds.

Mr. Christian posted a $3,000 and was released the same day.

Chief Jim Devlin said there was no evidence the couple had stolen anything from the store, but the case was still under investigation.
