KWTX-TV winner of national Edward R. Murrow Award

WACO, Texas (KWTX) KWTX is honored to be among award winners from across the country gathering Monday evening in New York City for the 2017 Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala.

The Murrow is one of the most prestigious awards given to local broadcasters.

The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. at the event is being held at the historic Gotham Hall on Broadway.

More than one hundred trophies will be handed out by a distinguished group of presenters.

KWTX is honored to be among those recipients for the News Documentary "From the Ashes of Vietnam."

KWTX is honored to share this award with the Vietnam Veterans who shared their stories and struggles as part of this documentary.

Earlier this year, KWTX-TV was named the recipient of four regional Edward R. Murrow awards, one of which was for the documentary "From the Ashes of Vietnam."

The awards, presented by the Radio Television Digital News Association “recognize the most outstanding ways journalists are keeping the public informed, holding the powerful accountable and enhancing the quality of life in their communities."

News Series: Baylor Fallout

KWTX-TV also received regional Murrows for News Documentary in 2016, and for News Documentary and Sports Reporting in 2015.
