KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A Killeen man was named in an indictment Wednesday in Bell County that charges him with murder in the December death of another Killeen man.

Frankie Nathaniel Boyd, III, was indicted for murder in connection with the December 22 death of Randy Joe Oliver, 52, who was found lying in the yard of a home in the 500 block of Libra Drive.

Oliver died at Scott and White Memorial Hospital on Christmas Eve 2016.

A passerby found him unconscious on Dec. 22 in Killeen and called police.

Officers and paramedics responded and CPR was performed on Oliver as he was transported to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights.

He was transferred to Scott & White in critical condition.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted by a roommate,” Smith said.

An arrest affidavit says Oliver was struck in the head.

Officers questioned Boyd and later took him into custody, she said.
