KILLEEN,Texas (KWTX) A Killeen Taco Bell employee is one of only five employees across the country to win $25,000 from the company for school.
On Tuesday evening, Taco Bell representatives surprised Victoria Bates with the big check during her shift.
Her family and co-workers were there for the special moment.
Bate says she's going to use the scholarship to finish school and become a teacher.
"Everyone has that little feeling that they hope they get it and I got. I had a little feeling, but not that it would be so much money. I'm really thankful right now," said Bates.
Bates competed against nearly 8,000 other employees from all over the country for the "Live Mas" Scholarship.
