LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas (KWTX) The McLennan County Grand Jury Wednesday indicted a man in connection with an armed holdup at a Lacy Lakeview smoke shop during which a shot was fired.

Joey D. McCain, 47, of Lacy Lakeview, was indicted for aggravated robbery Wednesday in connection with the Nov. 3, 2017 holdup at Kristy Smokeshop at 121 North Lacy Dr.

A man wearing a camouflage hooded sweatshirt, blue plastic gloves, dark glasses and a black bandana brandished what was described as a “skinny gun” as he demanded money, and ordered the clerk to get on the floor.

The customer she was waiting on also dropped to the floor.

Witnesses said a shot was fired, but no one was hurt.

McCain was pulled over in West, an affidavit filed in the case says.

He refused to get out and police had to pull him from the vehicle, the affidavit says.

He remains in the McLennan County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $120,000, according to online jail records.
