Local phenom headlines free blues concert in Killeen

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Seeing is believing, and you have to put your eyes on J.C. Stringz when you are listening to his music to accept the fact he’s only 16.

If you’re just listening, it sounds as though the central Texas native has been playing in blues clubs for decades.

Either way, he’ll be back at it this Saturday for Blues Under the Stars at the Killeen Community Center.

The concert is the brainchild of Stringz, who spearheaded the movement to fund the project with sponsorships.

The free event is from 6 to 9 p.m. and Stringz and Killeen Parks and Recreation Executive Brett Williams joined The Morning Buzz to talk about it.

The segment featured Stingz doing his thing on the guitar, which, of course, you have to see to believe.
