WACO, Texas (KWTX) Chad Allen Snowden, 22, of Crawford, who's accused of robbing a credit union in Lorena and escaping on Interstate 35 was named in federal complaint Tuesday charging bank robbery.

Information from the public led to his arrest, the FBI said Tuesday.

The charge stems from the March 13 robbery of the GENCO Federal Credit Union at 230 North Interstate 35 Frontage Road in Lorena.

The credit union was robbed by a man who handed a teller a note demanding cash and then escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Snowden appeared before a federal magistrate Tuesday and was ordered held pending a detention hearing on Thursday.
