Man charged in local teen’s hit-and-run death pleads guilty

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) Ronal Norwood, 62, pleaded guilty to accident involving death Monday in state district court in Belton in connection with a hit-and-run in November 2016 that killed a 13-year-old boy.

Sentencing is set for April 3.

Richard Snyder died early in the morning on Nov. 20, 2016 at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple of injuries he received when a pickup struck him as he rode his bicycle on Nov. 18, 2016, in the area of the 7-Eleven store at 2701 Interstate 35 Frontage Rd. in Belton.

Nov. 20, 2016, was the boy’s 13th birthday.

The day after the accident, Norwood went to the Belton Police Department and said he was involved.

The red 2007 Chevy 1500 he was driving at the time of the accident was impounded.
