GROESBECK, Texas (KWTX) The man suspected of killing a DPS trooper on a Texas interstate has been transferred to a Central Texas jail.

KWTX confirmed that Dabrett Montreal Black, 32, of Lindale, was transported from the Brazos County Jail to Limestone County overnight Friday.

Black is suspected of killing trooper Damon Allen, originally of Mexia, during a routine traffic stop Thursday on Interstate 45 in Fairfield.

Black then fled the scene, leading several law enforcement agencies on a manhunt that ended in a rural part of Waller County, just west of the Houston metroplex and more than two hours south of Fairfield.

Black is charged with one count of capital murder.

Bond has not been set.

He is also being held on several charges from other counties in Texas, including aggravated assault of a public servant and evading arrest.
