NAVARRO COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) A man with a Dallas address who may be in the country illegally, was arrested for cocaine possession after driving the wrong way down a feeder road in Navarro County, according to officials.
Jose Arocha, 34, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence, both felonies.
Arocha remained in the Navarro County Jail Thursday on an immigration hold with bonds totaling $30,000.
According to Sheriff Elmer Tanner, deputies seized an estimated 7 grams of cocaine during the stop on the I-45 west service road near Angus around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Tanner said deputies spotted a man driving on the wrong side of the road.
When they approached the vehicle, the driver threw two plastic baggies out of the passenger-side door, Tanner said.
The white powdery substance later tested positive for cocaine, he said.
