WACO, Texas (KWTX) The City of Waco is installing kiosks to help the growing number of tourists navigate downtown and experience everything the city has to offer.

The three kiosks already installed are located in different districts around downtown.

Five more kiosks are in the works to be installed in the near future Carla Pendegraft, Waco Convention and Visitors Bureau, said.

“That’s to let people know there’s a thing there, something for them to see,” Pendegraft said.

“Because not all of downtown is aimed at visitors. (The kiosks are there) just to help people orient themselves around the downtown area.”

Pendegraft said March is the busiest month for tourism. She expects more than 350,000 visitors in March and an overall increase of 11 percent throughout the year.

Last year tourism added $3.8 million to Waco’s economy.
