Police make quick arrest after bank robbery at local Walmart

BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) Police made a quick arrest Thursday after a man robbed a bank inside the Walmart store in the 1500 block of Interstate 35 in Bellmead.

The holdup at the Chase Bank branch was reported just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

An officer spotted a man fitting the suspect's description as he arrived at the store.

William Juan Bridgewater, 63, was arrested.

Police did not find a weapon, but recovered $7,004 in cash, which was the exact amount taken in the holdup.

Bank employees told officers the robber gave them a handwritten note that said “This is a Robbery give me all your money.”

No one was injured.

The FBI is investigating.
