Restaurant Report Card for week of September 14

(KWTX) Inspectors gave La Riv, an Italian restaurant in Temple a 90 after they found food on the floor, dirty air vents and a dirty can opener.

The inspector did not require a follow up.

What About Wednesday in Robinson was temporarily shut down.

A spider greeted the inspector at the front door and swarms of gnats were in the kitchen.

Then she found rat droppings and urine in a box of dry ingredients.

A container of corn dog mix more than a month old and uncovered steaks.

Several other items didn't have a date.

The next day they were able to reopen after correcting the problems.

Lucky's cafe in Riesel makes a 79.

They also had rodent droppings on the same shelf as the cake and sugar.

The inspector said buttered pancakes looked like they had been chewed through.

The owners elected to close the doors while repairs were made and made a 99 when they were re-inspected.

This week's Clean Plate Award goes to Mi Casita on Hewitt Drive in Waco.

Check out their daily lunch specials and if you want a seat you'll have to get their early on the weekends for breakfast.
