FALLS COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game wardens and local sheriff’s deputies late Wednesday afternoon recovered the body of David Lynn Nutt, Jr., 37, of Marlin, who disappeared Tuesday while he and another person were driving cattle across the Brazos River on horseback in Falls County east of Satin in the area of the Moon River Ranch.

The body was recovered at around 4:30 p.m.Wednesday from about 8 feet of water.

Game wardens responded at around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The search Wednesday was focused on a stretch of the river that’s a couple of hundred yards in length, authorities said.

A helicopter was also involved in the search Wednesday.

A person close to Nutt, who asked not to be identified, described him as a consummate cowboy who grew up doing ranch work.

The Falls County Sheriff’s Office has not returned calls for information about the search.
