KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A scuffle after a foot chase following a traffic stop Wednesday night in Killeen sent both the suspect and a police officer to a local hospital.
The officer was treated and later released, but the suspect remained in the hospital Thursday morning.
The chase started after an attempted traffic stop at around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Virginia Street and Adams Avenue in Killeen, spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said Thursday.
The officer asked the driver to get out of the vehicle and was escorting him to the rear of the vehicle when the suspect bolted.
Another officer was nearby and joined the ensuing chase.
“When he caught the driver, somehow during the scuffle, their heads collided,” Miramontez said.
The names of the suspect and the officer have not been released.
