HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas (KWTX) A teenager who died at a local hospital last Thursday morning after collapsing following an organized morning run with several other people in Harker Heights was identified Monday as Nicholas Tyler Thomas, 19.

Thomas was riding in a car just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday with a family member following the run when he passed out and stopped breathing.

The family member pulled over in the 800 block of West Central Texas Expressway, called 911, and started CPR, police said.

Efforts to revive the 19-year-old were unsuccessful.

He was taken to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was ordered.
