TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Two men were arrested Tuesday on warrants in connection with an armed robbery last month in Temple.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that Cedrick Brown and Ruben Xavier Vargas may be responsible for other hold-ups.

Brown, 21, was arrested by Waco police and was held Wednesday in the McLennan County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $128,000, charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of theft more than $100 but less than $750, online jail records showed.

He was served with the Bell County arrest warrant while in custody in Waco.

Vargas was in custody in the Bell County Jail Wednesday where he was ordered held on a $100,000 bond charged with aggravated robbery.

The two were arrested on warrants issued in connection with a Feb. 16 aggravated robbery.

Temple police are investigating whether the two might be responsible for other similar crimes in Central Texas, Temple police Lt. Brad Hunt said.

The Feb. 16 robbery happened at the Central Food Mart in the 2000 block of North 3rd St.

Police say two men walked into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash, a police report says.
