WACO, Texas (KWTX) Texas Rangers Thursday interviewed McLennan County Commissioner Lester Gibson in a probe into allegations of illegal activity in the precinct he oversees.

McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna asked the Rangers to look into allegations of unusual and illegal activity in Gibson’s precinct including the theft of gasoline from a county work yard near Mart.

A source close to the investigation told KWTX the Rangers are looking into a number of types of theft, mainly at the work yard.

Gibson has not been implicated with any of the activity and earlier told KWTX that he supported an internal audit and would be the first to go to the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office if the investigation turns up any evidence of wrongdoing by employees.
