SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) A San Angelo teenager has pleaded guilty to two counts of murder for his involvement in the fatal shootings of two other teenagers last year.

Fred Angel Garcia 18, was among seven people, three of them juveniles, charged in the March 2016 slayings of 16-year-old Zane Lopez and 18-year-old Juan Guerrero.

Garcia on Wednesday accepted a 35-year prison sentence as part of the plea agreement.

He was originally indicted on a capital murder charge and could have received a life sentence without parole if convicted.

The three others charged as adults, 17-year-old Nicholas Abel Rodriguez and Eric Ramos and Giliberto Salvador Reyes, both 19, are awaiting trials set for later this year.

Police have said the slayings at Lopez's home were gang related.
