The three are suspected of a break-in at around 4:30 p.m. Friday at a student apartment building, Village Oaks, on the Texas State Technical College campus.
TSTC Police Chief Brian Davis said the resident was asleep, but they woke up and spooked the burglars.
They ran away and the resident called police, Davis said.
The suspects gave chase when officers located the vehicle, he said.
According to officers on-scene, the driver took a turn too fast, approximately 70 miles an hour, and crashed into a field, then the suspects fled.
A multi-agency search ensued by land and air.
A Lacy Lakeview officer found one of the suspects trying to hitch a ride about 100 feet away from where the vehicle crashed.
A McLennan County Sheriff’s deputy found a second suspect hiding in a barn about five miles away.
The two were checked out at the scene by paramedics and had some scratches from the brush but were not hospitalized, police said.
The third suspect, believed to be hiding out in brush in the area of Oak Knoll and Mazanec, was captured on E. Crest Drive before midnight Friday night, officials said Tuesday.
Keivon Bates has been charged with engaging in organized crime and evading arrest.
TSTC officials said Bates was arrested by campus police after people called them saying a suspicious man was asking for a phone charger.
He remained in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday night in lieu of $55,000 bonds.
The first two suspects who were caught were also taken to the McLennan County Jail.
Davis said the men were from the Dallas area.
