WACO, Texas (KWTX) Baylor police made two arrests at the gates of McLane Stadium related to possession of narcotics at the Illectric River music festival.

Baylor University spokeswoman Lori Fogleman confirmed two people were arrested and denied entrance.

Police said they had a large presence at the at the festival throughout the day Saturday.

Festival co-founder Jason Millsap said safety and compliance with the law were top priorities.

“We frown upon that, we don't want it out here. We don't believe that it's necessary to make the environment. We think the environment is already here just waiting for people to come in and smile and dance around in it," Millsap said.

Waco Police assisted the campus police with security. They said there were a few cases of overheating and dehyrdation at the festival. The festival-goers were treated on site by medical technicians.

"Our intent is to keep it safe and drug-free out here," said Millsap.

Illectric River hosted more than 36 DJs, and was the first electronic dance music and art festival to take place in Waco.

Millsap said he hopes to bring the music festival back to Waco next year, and make it an annual tradition.
