WACO, Texas (KWTX) CASA of McLennan and Hill Counties, which provides court-appointed advocates for foster care children, has named a 2008 Baylor graduate as its new executive director.
Anna Futral will take the reins of the organization on May 8.
"I am humbled and honored to be chosen as the executive director of this fantastic organization,” she said.
“It is with energy and passion that I step into this new role, hopeful that I can act as a compassionate liaison between our agency and our community partners in order to serve the vulnerable children in foster care in McLennan and Hill Counties.”
Futral and her husband Trent, a pastor who splits his time between Ecclesia Community Church and Mission Waco, adopted three children in 2016 after caring for them for two years as foster care placements.
"Anna stood out among a very competitive group of candidates,” said Mandi DuPuy, chair of the executive director search committee.
“She brings to CASA a diverse skill-set that make her uniquely qualified for this position.”
Futral has degrees from Baylor in accounting and taxation.
For the last 10 years she has worked as a certified public accountant at Jaynes, Reitmeier, Boyd & Therrell in Waco, where she specializes in serving nonprofits.
