WACO, Texas (KWTX) A Waco man already a convicted sex offender was indicted Wednesday for trafficking of persons and on four new child sex charges.

Ricky Nelson Wilmore, 36, was in custody Thursday in the McLennan County Jail where he was ordered held on bonds totaling $410,000, charged with trafficking of persons and possession of a controlled substance, online jail records showed.

A tip from a school district employee that an adult was having sex with a school girl prompted the investigation in February 2016.

The victim, who investigators say was a girl younger than 15-years-old when the abuse happened, told investigato4rs she consented to the relationship but because of her age, under Texas law, she cannot give consent.

Prosecutors say evidence in the case shows Wilmore drove the girl to Austin where they had sex.

Wilmore was convicted in 2000 of indecency with a child and is required to register as a sex offender annually.

The grand jury also returned an indictment naming Thomas Eugene James on a similar charge.

James, 65, was indicted for attempted human trafficking and online solicitation of a minor.

He remains in custody in McLennan County in lieu of bonds totaling $50,000 charged with criminal conspiracy to commit trafficking.
