,"Anyone that's going to be in school building should be safe at all times and you should have the courage to speak up for this."
Pollard is hoping to raise enough money for a march in downtown Waco to coincide with the national March in Washington on March 24.
Local activist Berkeley Anderson is part of an adult support team helping Pollard with the planning of the event.
"We as adults have failed them this is happened over and over and they're asking for something to be different."
Pollard says she would rather be going to school every day and worry about her studies than someone entering the school with a gun,
"Children shouldn't be scared to go to school. Their educational environment should be safe and they shouldn't have to worry about an active shooter."
With help from adult, Pollard has created a March for Our Lives Waco Facebook page and is planning for a march on March 24 at Heritage Square in downtown Waco,
"I'd like to be heard. Over all I want to try to help the message get out that we want to change, we want to help ban assault weapons and make schools safer."
Pollard says her group wants to "stop the epidemic of mass school shootings that have become all too familiar."
