WACO,Texas (KWTX) Waco’s L3 Aerospace Systems is eliminating 124 positions in an effort “to lower costs and improve operating efficiencies across the L3 Aerospace Systems business segment,” spokesman Lance Martin confirmed Friday in an email.
He did not identify the specific positions that are on the chopping block.
“These reductions were not focused on any single department, but span numerous positions across our business where job duplications resulted from recent consolidation of functions and business areas,” he said.
With more than 1,800 employees, L3 is Waco’s largest industrial employer.
The company modifies a wide range of aircraft for customers worldwide.
“We are actively engaged in numerous competitive pursuits and will maintain our operational focus on providing our current U.S. Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and international customers with world-class aircraft integration and sustainment solutions,” Martin said in the statement Friday.
