WACO, Texas (KWTX) A private fundraiser was held Sunday night in Waco for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who’s running for a second term.

Abbott announced Friday he’s seeking another term.

Country star Larry Gatlin of the famed Gatlin brothers was among those at the invitation-only event and played a few songs for those who attended.

Abbott talked about the commitment Texans have to helping fellow Texans in need, referring specifically to the victims of Hurricane Harvey and the shooting on Nov. 5 at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs.

Abbott turns 60 Monday, so the crowd of a few hundred Sunday night sang the governor "Happy Birthday" and enjoyed birthday cake, as well.
