In fact, more than 2 million people are expected to visit the city this year.

Waco Tourism Manager Susan Morton says there were so many events in Waco over the weekend that it’s hard to nail down solid numbers.

But, she says, "It may have been the best weekend ever with the most people in town."

Among the biggest draws were the first round of the NCAA women’s regional tournament at the Ferrell Center on the Baylor campus, the Heart of Texas Air Show at Texas State Technical College and the Spring at the Silos event in downtown Waco.

Morton says the city has booked many more weekends with multiple events.

"I don't see things slowing down much, it's just getting better and better."

“In 2015, we had 660 thousand people visit Waco, last year, 2016, we had 1.9 million. That’s triple growth from the year before,” she said.
