TSTC police investigate report of campus gunfire

WACO, Texas (KWTX) Texas State Technical College police are investigating reports of gunfire near an on-campus apartment.

The gunfire was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Monday in the area of Crest Drive.

A witness told police a witness saw someone firing from a black car, Sgt. Joe Ashby said.

The witness could not provide a description of the person who fired the shots, he said.

Other people in the area including an officer reported hearing gunfire, but did not see anything.

Ashby investigated the area where the shots were reported, but saw no sign of a gunman.

No property was damaged and no one was injured.

"The safety of our students, employees and faculty, and to our surrounding communities is most important to us,” TSTC Provost Adam Hutchinson said Tuesday.
