Waco: Veteran officer retires to take reins of MCC Police Dept.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) A veteran Waco police detective is retiring to take the reins of the McLennan Community College Police Department.

Clayton Williams joined the Waco Police Department in 1993 after beginning his law enforcement career at the age of 18 with the McGregor Police Department.

He also served as an officer in Gatesville, where he was awarded a Medal of Valor.

He became a detective in 2003.

He received a lifesaving award and was nominated as Detective of the Year in 2014.

“Working at WPD for the last 24 years has been very rewarding for me. I’ve enjoyed serving our community and working with so many great people,” Williams said.
