(KWTX) The name of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein will be removed from the credits of the upcoming TV series “Waco,” which is based on the 1993 Branch Davidian standoff outside of Waco.
Weinstein was fired from the company he co-founded last week after a storm of allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault going back decades.
“Variety” reported that Viacom’s Paramount Network confirmed that Weinstein would be dropped as the executive producer of the six-part series.
The series was scheduled to be part of the Paramount Network’s inaugural program slate in January.
Over the weekend, Weinstein’s membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was revoked.
