TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Dillard's department store re-opened in the Temple Mall Thursday after being closed.
The store now occupies a larger storefront inside the mall, and the re-opening is cause for celebration for employees.
Melissa Adair, representing the department store chain, showed off the gold scissors on News 10 This Morning and gave a look at some of the special deals and events being offered for the occasion over the next few days.
One such event is a "lucky key" scavenger hunt that encourages shoppers to complete tasks and find keys in the hopes of winning prizes.
Shoppers also have the opportunity to register to win other prizes, such as beauty gift baskets.
On Friday, a "Superhero Training Camp" gives kids a chance to get in on the fun, and Miss Texas visits Saturday for a fashion show.
The store re-opening is also a chance to get some early Christmas shopping done with free gifts with purchase.
"You could maybe buy something for yourself and maybe give that gift as a gift to someone else'" said Adair, "We have great vendors throughout the store and Dillard's has something for everyone."
The re-opening event lasts from Thursday, November 9 to Saturday, November 11.
