2-A-DAYS: Crawford reloading after state final berth

CRAWFORD, Texas The Crawford Pirates are coming off one of the best seasons in program history. They want to build on that season and make another deep playoff run this year. It won't be easy after the graduation of some key players.

Crawford has been one of the state's top defensive teams the last couple of seasons. The leaders from that defense have graduated and that means they'll have to reload on that side of the ball.

Offensively, the Pirates return quarterback Gage Pearson and outstanding tailback Garrett Dutschmann. Both had big years in 2016. They hope to be even better this season. Head Coach Delbert Kelm says Dutschmann has prepared himself to carry more of the load for the Pirates this season.

Crawford plays in a very tough district that includes De Leon who went four rounds deep in the postseason as well.
