WACO, Texas Baylor baseball’s annual Alumni Leadoff Day is set for Saturday, Feb. 10 to bring in the 2018 season. The event will feature an alumni game at Baylor Ballpark where fans can meet and greet with current and former players along with the coaching staff.
Among the many returning alumni for the game are Zach Dillon (Baylor from 2003-06 and Baltimore Orioles organization from 2006-08), Kevin Ellis (Baylor from 1989-92), Seth Fortenberry (Baylor from 2003-06), Cody Hall (Baylor in 2001), Matthew Marcom (Baylor from 1995-98), Mark Outlaw (Baylor from 1998-99 and Philadelphia Phillies organization from 1999-03), Mark Rogers (Baylor in 1997), Jerry Smith (Baylor in 1970), Larry Smith (Baylor from 1967-68) and Ron Zboril (Baylor from 1999-02).
Free and open to the public, the day will begin with batting practice from 12:20-2:10 p.m. CT, in and out from 2:20-2:40 p.m. and the seven-inning game will start at 3:05 p.m. In-N-Out Burger food trucks will also be featured just outside the stadium.
The Bears begin the 2018 season Feb. 16-18 with a home series vs. Purdue.
