Former Baylor wide receiver signed to Cowboys practice squad

WACO, Texas (KWTX) Exactly one year after K.D. Cannon set career-highs in receptions (14) and receiving yards (226) at Baylor, the former Bears wide receiver has signed a contract to join the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad.

Baylor receiver KD Cannon (right) bobbles the ball before running into the end zone for a first quarter touchdown during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Texas Tech on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 in Arlington, TX.

He also had two touchdowns in Baylor's 31-12 win over Boise State in the Cactus Bowl in 2016.

Cannon, who has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets organizations so far this year, declared for the NFL Draft hours after being named Cactus Bowl MVP, citing the best interests of his family.

ESPN Central Texas' David Smoak first reported the signing.
