Houston Astros win first ever World Series title

LOS ANGELES, California The Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game 7 to win the first World Series title in franchise history.

George Springer was named MVP of the World Series after leading the Astros' offense again in Game 7. Springer hit a 2-run home run to put the Astros in front for good. Springer had a huge series and the long ball was a big part of it. He added two more hits in the clinching win.

The Astros got outstanding pitching from their bullpen in Game 7. Charlie Morton came in and earned the win by pitching the final 4 innings and allowing just two hits and one run to the Dodgers.

Los Angeles struggled offensively in Game 7, leaving runners on base all night long. The Dodgers finished the game 1-13 with runners in scoring position.

The Astros had never won a World Series game before this series, they are now World Series champions.
